Our Story

how it all began

A love worth the journey

From a first hello in July 2023 to forever — the moments that brought us here.

Leo and Njoki, dressed up against a golden backdrop
July 2023 where it all began

Every great love story begins with a simple hello, and ours began in July 2023, just one month before Leo’s birthday.

Our journey has not always been the easiest. Coming from different backgrounds and cultures, we faced challenges that tested our faith, patience and commitment. As an immigrant from the vibrant West African nation of Nigeria, Leo’s path brought its own unique obstacles, but together we chose to see those differences not as barriers, but as opportunities to grow.

Through every season, we built our relationship on trust, understanding and unwavering support for one another. We faced battles that at times seemed impossible, yet each challenge only strengthened our bond and deepened our love. Standing here today feels like the beautiful culmination of our resilience and the many hurdles we have overcome together.

One of the things we cherish most about our relationship is our ability to laugh together, encourage one another and keep faith at the centre of our lives, even during difficult moments. Through life’s adventures, celebrations and uncertainties, we have always found our way back to each other.

When Leo proposed, it was not simply the beginning of a new chapter, but a celebration of everything we had already conquered together and the future we are excited to build.

Our story is a reminder that love has the power to overcome fear, distance, prejudice and uncertainty. Our strength and courage stand as proof that love will always lead, no matter what. We hope our journey inspires others to believe that, even when the road is difficult, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

We are deeply grateful for the love and support of our families and friends, and we are honoured to celebrate this special day with the people who have been part of our journey.

Thank you for being part of our story, and for joining us as we begin our greatest adventure yet.
